This After Effects project generates an odometer style number counter. The odometer is easily adjusted to show between 3 and 6 digits, and to rotate up or down.
It is easy to change the text colour and font, and also the texture behind the numbers.
The odometer is 3D camera aware and does not use any 3rd party plugins. If you turn the front mask off then you will see that the odometer is a true 3D cylinder.
The number to be displayed is animated with a single slider using normal keyframes.
The project includes versions for regular HD and 4K resolution, as well as simplified versions on a transparent background.
The project was made in CS 6 but comes with a version for CS 5.5.
It also includes a project which demonstrates several interesting camera angles and positions.
